Duct Cleaning For Landlords & Tenants

Success Through Communication

Cleaning a rental property’s ducts is just like cleaning any other home. However, the more details you include when making a reservation for your rental duct cleaning, the simpler it will be to arrange for a trouble-free cleaning process. Before cleaning, consider the following:

Why Are You Cleaning?

Is the decision to clean motivated by a specific issue, or is it just a regular cleaning? Are you moving into or out of the house? Before cleaning, please let us know about any particular issues so we can make sure to meet your standards.

Who WiIll Be Present Throughout The Cleaning?

In order for us to send out our cleaning technician on the day of cleaning with the correct site contact information, please let us know if one person is booking the cleaning, but another will be there while the duct cleaning is taking place.

Who Is Making Payments and How?

Payment is due upon completion of all of our services. If the person paying is not going to present for the cleaning, they can call in before the appointment to put a credit card on file for processing immediately after the cleaning. We will need to have the contact information of the person making the purchasing decisions and they will need to be available to speak with our technicians upon arrival to review the work order before we proceed with the cleaning.

We do not accept cheques or cash.

How Much Is Being Paid, And Who Is Paying?

All of our services are subject to payment upon completion. If the individual making the payment won’t  be there for the cleaning, they can phone ahead of time and place a credit card on file for processing right after the cleaning. We do not accept cash or checks.

Who Requires A Copy Of The Reciept?

On-site, we don’t use paper, but if someone needs a copy of the cleaning order with the payment for their records, we can email it to them if they provide us with their email address.

FAQ's For Duct Cleaning

The air that you and your family breathe inside your home is delivered through your furnace and duct work. It gathers dirt, dust and debris from many sources inside and outside your home. If you are moving into a new home, have had renovations done or there has been construction in your neighbourhood you need to have your ducts cleaned for the health of you and your family.
Every 2 -3 years should be sufficient. Individual considerations such as number of people and/or pets in the home, if anyone in the home suffers from allergies or asthma, if your system also provides air conditioning or there has been recent renovations are all factors that would affect the frequency of cleaning.
This is an extremely unfair and dishonest way to provide pricing for duct cleaning services. We charge a base price for the furnace cleaning and up to 10 vents and the additional vents are priced accordingly. The number of additional vents are indicative of the size of the home and associated main trunk lines and the work required to compete a thorough cleaning of the entire HVAC system. A company who charges flat rate pricing has to save costs somewhere…either by overcharging for a smaller home or under cleaning a larger home.

Asbestos was used in buildings from the 1950s to the 1970s. If your home was constructed during that time, it is possible that asbestos has been used in insulating or insulative tape. You can look online for more information about how to identify asbestos in your home if you suspect it may be present.

Prestige Duct Cleaning is committed to the health and safety of our customers and staff. As a part of this commitment, we are undergoing COR certification, which is an intensive, safety focused certification program. In going through this process, asbestos has been identified as a health and safety concern, and we have recently developed a policy to properly manage this concern.

Asbestos must be properly contained and/or disposed of according to government regulations. Our staff and procedures are not qualified asbestos abatement and removal personnel, and therefore cannot do this for you.

Asbestos becomes dangerous when it becomes friable (easily crumbles and releases fibers). Due to the aging of asbestos building materials, there is a high possibility that this could happen when our equipment puts pressure on your heating system. Due to this possibility and for your health and safety, we have a zero tolerance policy for asbestos.

We do not have a referral for an abatement company, but we recommend you search out a reputable, qualified company to assess your home – they will be found under the term “asbestos abatement”. Once the concerned area has been investigated and/or the asbestos removed, go online or call us to schedule your furnace and duct cleaning service. At the time of booking, please email/fax us the official asbestos documentation.

Happy with the service overall. The Gentlemen were courteous, friendly and did a great job. Small issue/suggestion: I noticed there was a lot of dust blow on the furnace room floor, boxes and mudroom that I had to clean up after they left. Wish they had doublechecked and cleaned up the mess created.
